Ukraine is getting prepared for the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic

As of August 11, 83,115 cases of coronavirus observed in Ukraine. 1,158 Covid-19 cases were registered during the past 24 hours, as the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reported.

Totally, 44,943 (+575 in 24 hours) people recovered from the coronavirus; while 1,951 (+29 in 24 hours) people died from the complications caused by Covid-19.

The majority of the cases were observed in the Lviv region – 161, Odesa region – 134 cases, and Kharkiv region – 129 cases. 123 cases were registered in Kyiv.

As we reported, the growth of new cases of coronavirus infection up to 2,000 and growth of deaths up to 40-50 per day is possible in Ukraine.

On August 1, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers' decree No. 641 "On the introduction of quarantine and enhanced anti-epidemic measures" came into force in Ukraine. The document extends the adaptive quarantine until August 31, 2020. The government specified that, depending on the epidemiological situation, according to the level of the epidemic danger of the spread of Covid-19, all regions are divided into several zones: green, yellow, orange, and red.
