Representatives of 112 Ukraine TV channel and NewsOne TV channel passed the appeal on the pressure on the freedom of speech to the U.S. Embassy. The American diplomats are aware of the details and realities of Ukraine starting from the judicial system, as 112 Ukraine TV hostess Anna Stepanets reported.
“The awareness is absolute and you might be even astonished by the fact how the workers, American diplomats are familiar with the realities of Ukraine, including such comprehensive realities beginning with the judicial system, which really needs the reform,” Stepanets reported.
At the same time, she underlined that the American diplomats were not really astonished by the information that the judges, involved in the process of the making of the decision on the license of 112 Ukraine TV channel, visited the Office of the President.
“They shook their heads with understanding and expressed the hope that this situation may be changed. At the same time, they asked whether we know who the judges visited, it is really interesting for the Americans. I think that they can get to know it more reliably and safer on their channels that we with our journalistic tools,” the TV hostess said.
According to Stepanets, the Americans have the awareness of our realities, the awareness that our judicial system is not completely reformed yet.
“How the decisions are made, nobody canceled the telephone justice and we hope that it will be canceled but there are still big questions. And I think that the situation with our channel, our license will quite exemplary for the U.S. and the whole civilized world the same as with NewsOne TV channel and ZIK TV Channel,” Stepanets added.
Earlier the National Security and Defense Council stated that there was no ground to impose the sanctions against NewsOne and 112 Ukraine TV channels.
