112 Ukraine TV Channel and NewsOne TV Channel have signed the agreement with well-known international company for holding of the exit-poll during the first round of the elections of the President of Ukraine on March 31, 2019. The SORA Institute for Social Research and Consulting (Vienna, Austria) along with Social Monitoring Center (Kyiv, Ukraine) will hold the survey.
The survey will be held at 500 polling stations. Totally, 25,000 people will be questioned. The results will be represented at the national level with the statistical deviations at the level of 2,1% for the leaders of the rating and 1,5% for other candidates.
The preliminary results will be announced at 20:00 by 112 Ukraine and NewsOne TV channels right after the close of the polling stations. The specified data will be announced after 22:00.
The survey of the voters will be held by filling the mini-questionnaire (imitation of the secret voting procedure) at 250 polling stations. The respondents will mark the candidates for whom they voted and provide main social and demographic characteristics.
The survey of the voters will be held in the form of the personal individual interview at another 250 polling stations. The respondents will voluntarily answer the questions of the interviewer, provide main social and demographic characteristics and answer the questions on the possible choice at the second round of the elections.
The idea to attract important international company for the holding of the exit-poll in Ukraine was proposed by the members of the International Editorial Board of the channels: the MPs of the European Parliament Nathan Gill, Arne Gericke and David Coburn. Successful negotiations were held with the SORA Institute for Social Research and Consulting to implement this project. The specialists of the Austrian institute use the constant network of the interviewers of Social Monitoring Center to provide the gathering of data. The results of the exit-pole will be provided on March 31, 2019, during the TV marathons of 112 Ukraine and NewsOne.
SORA Institute for Social Research and Consulting (Austria) is one of the leading research institutes of Europe in the sphere of the social research; it has great experiences of the studying and analysis of the electoral preferences and predictions for the results of the elections. Social Monitoring Center (Ukraine) has the experience of the questioning of the voters on the election’s day (1998, 1999, 2002, 2004, 2012, 2014 at the national level; 2012 and 2015 at the level of the particular districts); it regularly holds and publishes the results of the research of the electoral orientations of the population. Social Monitoring Center is the collective member of the Sociological Association of Ukraine and it is accredited as an organization, which holds the national social polls.
