1+1 TV channel can soon receive the license for analog broadcasting in Ukraine. Yuriy Artemenko, the Head of the State Council for TV and radio broadcasting, said this at Thursday briefing in Kyiv.
‘The form is signed, and the channel’s management can take the document immediately. We also expect that the channel reports that officially confirms that its ultimate beneficiaries never changed’, Artemenko said.
The 1+1 studio was supposed to get the license until January 6, 2017.
Previously, the regulatory authority re-issued the license for analogue broadcasting of 1+1 TV channel; it was prolonged for another seven years.
Earlier, the journalists and representatives of Ukraine’s 1+1 TV Channel, belonging to oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky, have published an open letter to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman. They state about the threat of shutting down the TV channel since to the National Council on TV and Radio Broadcasting had not then renewed the channel’s license to broadcast; the-then license expired on December 30, 2016.
