Due to a power failure, residents of 11 settlements of Luhansk region remain without electricity. This was reported by the press service of the Luhansk Energy Association.
"Today, on May 6, in the controlled territory of the Luhansk region without electricity remain 650 consumers in 11 localities in the north-eastern part of the region. According to operational information, there were 4 settlements without light, 7 others were partially de-energized," said in a statement.
It is added that analysis of previous emergency shutdowns makes it possible to draw some conclusions. "Often emergency shutdowns are caused not only by unfavorable weather conditions, but also by the instability of the power system of Luhansk region, which resulted from the lack of proper maintenance for 1.5 years," the report says.
The energy industry warns that if it does not take measures, this will not only result in local outages, but also a large-scale blackout and the collapse of the power system of the Luhansk region, with all the ensuing consequences.
Let's note, till the end of the day in four regions of Ukraine deterioration of weather conditions is expected - thunderstorms and strong wind. However, Luhansk region is not included in the risk zone.
