11 explosives were found at Ukrainian railway during 2017 as the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia reported.

‘During 12 months of 2017, the railway personnel spotted 11 cases of the detection of the explosives in the rolling stock or objects of the infrastructure’, the message said.

Moreover, 16 cases of the thievery or damage of the parts of the infrastructure, eight cases of the putting of the foreign objects on the rails with the running at them, ten cases of the blocking of the move of the trains by unknown persons, two cases of the reports on the installing of the explosives at the railway stations were spotted.

It is noted that 49 cases of the unauthorized interference in the work of Ukrzaliznytsia were registered during 2017.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrzaliznytsia will initiate the strengthening of the administrative responsibility for the damage of the railway’s infrastructure. It was noted that Ukrzaliznytsia took losses in the sum of more than 1.5 million dollars in 2017, more than 1.7 million dollars in 2016 and 1.2 million dollars in 2015.

At the moment the damage or violation of the railway’s infrastructure can be sanctioned by the imprisonment up to 15 years if the damage or violation led to the death of people. Also, such actions can be treated as the administrative offenses.
