As we reported earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko called on Ukrainians to stay at home for the Easter holidays and recommended church leaders hold services online.
According to him, believers must comply with all quarantine restrictions, including wearing a mask and keeping a social distance if they still come to church. At the same time, the temple should provide disinfection and ventilation of the premises and limit the number of visitors to the rate of 1 person per 10 square meters. And third, the church leadership must provide temperature screening of the faithful.
"We are also waiting for a conscious and considered decision by the Council of Churches, which met today for a common decision by all denominations on how to worship and how to consecrate Easter baskets. I believe that the church should take care of the health of its faithful and not endanger them," Klitschko said.
