Over a thousand residents of Zakarpattya region received vaccines from the Hungarian government. The Jansen vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson company came free of charge. The Hungarian border police keeps track of the citizens who arrived for vaccination at the border checkpoints, ZAXID.NET reports.

The campaign started on July 2. There has been no official information from the Hungarian government for local Ukrainian authorities. The Ukrainian border guards, however, were informed in advance.

The people are vaccinated in special medical buses located on the territory of three Hungarian entry-exit checkpoints, Zahony, Barabas and Lonya. Most of the citizens who arrive are Ukrainians, not ethnic Hungarians.
