Around 100 young men broke into the Lviv Regional Council. The youngsters from far-right parties and movements like Svoboda, the Right Sector, National Corps protested at the Lviv Regional Council this morning, demanding from the President, Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada to grant amnesty to the participants of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Eastern Ukraine, ZIK reports.
Young people burst in the session hall, used the tear gas smoke bombs. They said they represented the nationalistic organizations, however many of them spoke Russian. The council session went for a break.
According to Svyatoslav Siryi, the National Corps Chief of Staff in Lviv region, the protesters burst into the regional council, demanding the requirements to be fulfilled.
“We addressed to the regional council with four requirements to be supported: amnesty for patriots, extension of land moratorium, nationalization of Russian capital. We agreed the issue to be voted at 13:00. We didn’t vote it a 1 p.m. We entered to explain that these are national interests. If they support us and confirm, this will be redirected to the President,” Siryi announced.
He confirmed that representatives of other regions of Ukraine were present in the council.
“Several men from other regions are present here – initiative groups of the National corps, National Squad of the Azov Battalion. They came here to visit us for several days and made it into a protest,” the National Corps representative added.
According to the Vgolos, the protesters blocked the deputies in the session hall, but let them go soon.
It is also reported that a pregnant woman, a journalist of the “First Western TV channel, was injured during the events at the Lviv regional council. She is in the hospital at the moment, the details are being examined.
