To date, 10 power units of thermal power plants (TPPs)were put into an emergency repair. This was announced by the chairman of the parliamentary committee on energy and housing and communal services Andriy Herus on his Telegram channel.
“As of the morning of February 8, 10 power units are in emergency repair: eight units at DTEK Group's thermal power plants and one each at Donbasenergo and Kyivteploenerho,” the statement said.
According to the data published by the official, five more units made an emergency application because of inability to function due to lack of fuel.
As we reported earlier, on February 5, an emergency shutdown of the power unit occurred at Zaporizhia thermal power plant.
"Today, February 5, at 10:49, power unit No.1 of DTEK Zaporizhia TPP was disconnected due to a temporary malfunction of the cooling system of the T-1 transformer," reads the message.
At this point, the united energy system of Ukraine has capacity shortages of 750 MW. That, in turn, forced the operators of Ukrenergo to increase the production of electricity at hydroelectric power stations.
