‘We know about 7 attacks on the members of March Equality at the moment. Totally 10 people suffered from these attacks. We are trying to grant all possible aid. This year not only the numbers of the suffered members increased but the observer of the march was also attacked. The police used force against the journalist. We will connect with the police and discuss this issue to prevent similar cases in the future’, she said.
She specified that there are 9 men and 1 woman among the suffered.
At the same time, Panuhnik noted, that KyivPride-2017 took place at extremely high level. The participators of the march received the great support from LGBT community, people who are not the part of LGBT movement, from the international organizations and diplomats.
In turn, Zoryan Kys, the member of the board of KyivPride noted the high level of administration of the law during the march of equality this year.
‘Despite the fact that the conditions were difficult, I fell under the impression that the police managed the situations using the less number of the staff. It means that the march and the administration of the law were planned well’, Kys noted.
March of Equality took place in the downtown of Kyiv on June 18. 5 thousand of law enforcement officials kept the public order. The Kyiv police reported about 2 suffered police workers.
