United States imposed sanctions against 8 Russian companies.

This was reported by Interfax agency, referring to United States Department of State.

Sanctions were introduced due to the violation of INKSNA law, banning export of arms, military technology and dual-use items to Iran, North Korea and Syria.

According to Reuters, US imposed sanctions on 30 foreign companies or individuals for transferring sensitive technology to Iran for its missile program or for violating export controls.

"Eleven companies or individuals from China, North Korea or the United Arab Emirates were sanctioned for technology transfers that could boost Tehran's ballistic missile program," State Department said, Reuters informed.

It was also noted that other 19 companies were affected with sanctions for violating the same act, as they could share or acquire military technology that could contribute to development of weapons of mass destruction.

Sanctions were imposed for 2 years.
