The barmaid of the Lucy's Cantina Royale restaurant in New York, Darya Pauto, was fired after she organized an action in honor of the birthday of Russian President Vladimir Putin on behalf of the institution and invited the film crew of Russia Today, Dozhd writes.

Together with Pauto was fired the waitress Tamara Ilizarova, who starred in a TV reportage of RT. According to Pauto, the restaurant manager fired her on October 10 with the words: "I do not want to do this, but I have to." The restaurant confirmed the dismissal of employees.

"They said to me I shouldn't show up at the restaurant, I do not consider the possibility of working there any longer," Pauto said. According to the girl, she worked in Lucy's Cantina Royale for 2.5 years, and learned about the dismissal from the news.

The story was spread by Ruptly agency, which belongs to the propaganda channel Russia Today, on October 7. In it, a restaurant employee named Tamara claimed that in honor of the birth of Putin in 1952, they made a "putinburger" weighing 1952 grams. The representative of the institution, Sean Ryan, said that the restaurant "never and in no way celebrated the birthday of Vladimir Putin," and said that the institution will conduct proceedings in connection with this story.
