Russian special services allegedly conducted a special information operation

Ukrainian intelligence has accused Russia's intelligence services of trying to prevent the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Afghanistan. According to the Ukrainian side, Russian special services allegedly conducted a special information operation. Press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that on their Facebook page.

"By order of the secret services, the Russian media conducted a special information operation. They reported that there would be no evacuation of Ukrainians and that the state had abandoned its citizens," the statement reads.

"Our citizens whom we evacuated have repeatedly received offers to go to Russia in exchange for statements that Ukraine left them for certain death," said a participant in the operation to evacuate Ukrainians from Afghanistan.

As it was reported earlier, on August 15, the Ukrainian plane evacuated almost 80 people from Afghanistan, including citizens of Ukraine, the Netherlands, Croatia, Belarus and Afghanistan. These people asked for an urgent evacuation.

On August 22, an IL-76MD military transport plane landed in Ukraine, evacuating 83 people from Afghanistan, including 31 Ukrainian citizens.

And on August 23, a plane carrying 98 citizens, 27 of them Ukrainians, evacuated from Afghanistan and arrived at Boryspil International Airport.

It later became known that during the evacuation operation of Ukrainian Taliban servicemen and military intelligence officers in Afghanistan threatened to confiscate the Ukrainian plane.
