The Chairman of Ukraine’s Security Service Vasyl Hrytsak confirmed that two officers of counter-intelligence service were on board of Ukrainian military vessels, which were attacked and seized by the Russian side in Kerch Strait, as the press office of the service reported.
“The officers of the Ukrainian special service were conducting task on counter-intelligence support of the Navy unit as it is provided by the article No. 12 of Ukraine’s Law “On Ukraine’s Security Service.” For more than four years of the Russian aggression, the Ukrainian counter-intelligence men were on the frontline with their friends from Navy, National Guar, and State Border Guard Service. And they will always be,” the message says.
At the same time, it was added that such things are practiced in the Russian counter-intelligence bodies as well, so this is not a surprise.
“What surprises us, is that Russia used six FSB and four Navy watercraft along with Russian Aerospace Forces helicopter gunships and warplanes against two Ukrainian boats and small tug. By the way, according to the confirmed SBU information, one of the Russian stormtroopers used two unguided rocket missiles against the Ukrainian boats, as a result of what, one of the SBU officers sustained serious injury,” Security Service informed.
The representatives of the service noted that they were taking all necessary measures to release the Ukrainian prisoners and return them home.
At the same time, Ukraine’s Security Service demands Russian special services to stop putting psychological and physical pressure on the Ukrainian military for informational justification of such aggressive act.
As we reported earlier, the coast guard ships of the Russian Navy acted aggressively against the ships of the Ukrainian Navy, which have been carrying out a scheduled transition from Odesa port to Mariupol port in the Sea of Azov. The Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law approving as a whole a presidential decree on the imposition of martial law in Ukraine.
