Ukraine declared the zone for civil aircraft flights over the Black Sea near the western coast of Crimea dangerous because of missile-launching exercises in early November, as Russian Interfax reports referring to the international order on flights limits.
“The zone of the airspace over the Black Sea is dangerous for the civil aviation, the Russian side is responsible for the managing of this area. Limitations are set due to Ukraine’s missile-launching exercises on November 1-4. Therefore, Kyiv banned flights of civil aviation in this area in all heights,” the message says.
Ukraine has not commented on this information yet.
After Russia annexed Crimea in March 2014, the Ukrainian Government closed the airports on the peninsula. Any flights back and forth are considered a violation of Ukraine’s legislation and international regulations.
