The National Security and Defence Council prolonged the ban on entering the country for Russian males at the age of 16-60 regardless of the fact that the martial law is over, as Sergiy Yarovy, First Deputy of Interior Minister said.
“Taking into account a very complicated security situation, all the institutions of the Internal Ministry continue working in an enhanced regime. In particular, the National Security and Defence Council decided to prolong the restrictive measures of the Border Guard Service for entering of Russians aged 16-60. Since the martial law was imposed, 1,616 Russians were not allowed to enter Ukraine, including 866 in the regions affected by the martial law. The Russian side returned 351 Ukrainians,” he said.
As is known, Ukraine banned the entry for male Russian citizens aged from 16 to 60. This is due to the ongoing tense situation, caused by the recent Russian attack on Ukrainian vessels in Kerch Strait. The Ukrainian government reacted to the Russian aggression, imposing martial law in ten of the 24 regions of the country.
