Ukraine files 6 lawsuits against Russia to ECHR

Ukraine’s Justice Ministry has filed six lawsuits against Russia to the European Court of Human Rights for today, as Pavlo Petrenko, the Justice Minister, said at the briefing on Monday, August 13, reports.

“Six interstate appeals against Russia were filed by Ukraine as of today. Literally, on Friday (August 10, - ed.), Ukraine filed the 6th lawsuit about which we will tell you today in details. It concerns the political prisoners,” he said.

The previous appeals concern the events connected with Crimea’s annexation, mass violations of Ukrainians’ rights (kidnapping, murder, imprisonment, property rights violation, violations of rights to a fair trial). Moreover, the lawsuits are also about the events in Donbas during the battle actions and mass violation of human rights by the Russian Federation.

The fifth lawsuit concerns the kidnapping of Ukrainian orphans, when Russian terrorists moved the orphans from Ukraine who were in the boarding school in Luhansk region.
