The crew of Russian TV “Rain” Channel went missing in Donetsk. Correspondents of "Rain" Sergei Erzhenkov and Vasily Polonsky stopped communicating on Friday, November 25. This was reported on the website of the channel.
Before the disappearance, Polonsky had informed the editorial board that the crew was detained by the “Ministry of State Security" of the so-called "DPR". The "DPR" TV channel reported on Friday that the arrests were not made.
The TV channel reported that his crew was accredited to work in Donetsk from the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as from the "Ministry of Information of DPR”. Journalists passed “DPR” border on Thursday from the territory of Ukraine. On the territory of the "DPR" journalists of "Rain" had planned to take a series of stories for the ether and channel site. On Thursday, they recorded an interview with the former "secretary of Security Council of DPR" Alexander Khodakovsky.
Khodakovsky told "Rain" that "realizes that journalists were detained for preventive conversation, because the press-secretary of the head of “DPR" Alexander Zakharchenko exceeded its authority and gave accreditation to journalists of “Rain” without knowledge of Zakharchenko. Alena Alekseeva herself, the assistant of Zakharchenko, said she did not know about the detention of journalists.
