General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg warned the NATO member countries to be ready for missile Agreement break down of the medium and short-range missiles. The statement was voiced by Stoltenberg during the interview to Der Speigel, as Deutsche Welle informed.
"Unfortunately we do not see any Russia's intentions to implement international commitments within the medium and short-range missiles Agreement," Stoltenberg said.
He predicted the Agreement termination in case of Moscow's non-performance of its obligations until August 2.
Russia developed and placed a new mid-range missile system capable of carrying nuclear warheads. "This is a mobile missile system, it can be easily concealed from tracking systems. German cities like Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich are within its effective range," Stoltenberg stated.
NATO reminds Russia has only five weeks left until August 2 to return to the implementation of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. During this period, Moscow must destroy its cruise missiles that violate the treaty.
