Kremlin commented on the scandal with smuggling of military equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Pesov claimed this to be absurd, as such equipment is under special control, as Unian reports.

“Frankly speaking, I had no clue about this scandal at all, as our journalists do not work in Ukraine and we cannot obtain the objective information from there, unfortunately, I do not know all the scandal details, although it sounds ridiculous,” Peskov said and asked to tell him more about the scandal.

At the clarification, whether the dual-use production could be smuggled from the Russian Federation, the press secretary of the Russian president claimed it was impossible.

“No, the whole turnover of dual-use production is under special control. This special control is conducted in order to prevent uncontrolled transporting of this production, this special equipment”, - Peskov emphasized.

February 25, journalist investigations Bihus.Info, Nashi Hroshi program alleged that Igor Gladkovsky, the son of close Poroshenko ally Oleh Gladkovsky, deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, organized a corruption scheme to smuggle spare military-equipment parts from Russia in 2015. State defense facilities purchased the smuggled spare parts from private companies linked to Hladkovsky and his friends at highly inflated prices. Ukroboronprom state concern, which supervises defense industry production facilities, knew the origin of the smuggled parts but agreed to purchase them.

Igor Gladkovsky, along with Vitaliy Zhukov (former advisor of “Ukroboronprom” Director, the member of supervisory council of “Meridian” company till 2013, former assistant of Yuriy Tereshchenko, ex-Head of State Service of export control, Oleg Gladkovsky’s friend, - ed.) and Andriy Rogoza (CEO of “Inter Steel Ltd.”, - ed.) were supplying smuggled Russian components and components from the Ukrainian military units through straw companies at prices 2-4 times higher than market ones.
