Ksenia Sobchak will run for the presidency in Russia from the ‘Grazhdanskaya Initsiativa’ Party headed by Andrey Nechaev, the former Minister of Economy of Russia as it is reported at her election website.
‘The consultations began a month ago. We met with different democratic parties and urged for the union a few days ago. I am glad to report that I will run for the presidency as the candidate from the ‘Grazhdanskaya Initsiativa’ Party if the congress approves my candidature’, Sobchak claimed.
Nechaev also commented on the creation of the coalition.
‘I join the call to create the coalition and dra the attention of other democratic parties to this campaign. We are ready to cooperate, particularly to create the social and economic part of the program’.
The run for the presidency from the party will allow Sobchak to reduce the number of the needed signs and it is generally easier to work with this party.
