Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoygu claimed the delivery of S-300 missile system to Syria, as Interfax reports.
“We have completed the delivery of S-300. It includes 49 units of equipment: lighting radars, basic determination systems, of course, command vehicles and four missile launchers,” he said.
It was reported that the system will be set till October 20.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that the deliveries of this complex to Damascus began “right after the incident” with IL-20 intelligence plane which occurred over the Mediterranean Sea.
Reportedly, 13 people died as a result of Russia’s airstrikes at Syrian province Idlib. Later, Russia claimed to be continuing bombardments in Idlib, “if necessary”.
Earlier we also reported that Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) claimed that during the operation of the international anti-terrorist coalition in Syria headed by the U.S., 3,300 civilians died in the result of the air strikes.
