Moscow has the right to react to the suspension of the U.S. participation in the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia, as the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova said, reports TASS.
“If USA will decide to leave the INF treaty for sure, Moscow has the right to react to on the events properly. Naturally, it will be done”, Zakharova said.
According to Zakharova, the U.S. leaving the INF treaty is the part of Washington policy on getting rid of international legal obligations in different fields.
Earlier, the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that on February 2, the country would suspend participation in the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia.
Russia accused the U.S. of making out a false excuse to leave the treaty which they want to leave anyway so that they could develop new missiles. Russia has also declined the U.S. demand to destroy the new missile it's been working on, Novator 9M279.
