Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has delayed the investigation into the case of Ukrainian sailors seized off the Crimean coast in 2018, who were released as part of a prisoner exchange that took place last September. This was reported by Russian lawyer Nikolai Polozov on his Facebook page.
"Today, the investigator of the FSB's Investigative Office announced a procedural decision to delay the preliminary investigation into the case of Ukrainian navy sailors. The reasons and motives of the procedural decision will be known after receiving a copy of the disposition," he wrote.
As we reported earlier, Nikolai Polozov, the lawyer of Ukrainian sailors, was concerned that Russia would put his clients on the wanted list, as Krym.Realii informed.
“There is a very real danger that the Russian authorities may put the sailors on the wanted list if they will not appear on the summon of the prosecutor or to the court,” he said.
Polozov reminded that the sailors stayed as accused in Russia and their case was at the stage of the familiarization with the materials by the defense.
