Russia's air force lost another plane in Syria. Antonov An-26 crashed during the landing at Khmeymim air base.

There were 26 passengers and six crew members aboard; no one survived, Russian defense ministry reports.

The reason could be the technical malfunction, the Russian authority says, adding that no one opened fire on the aircraft.

The special committee will be looking into the accident, the ministry concluded.

Russian armed forces and mercenary groups have been taking casualties since the beginning of the Russian campaign in Syria in September 2015.
