A Russian citizen was detained in Minsk airport. Austria’s law enforcement authorities declared him wanted through Interpol, as Belta reports.

“The man was detained on October 4, on the next day the Deputy Minsk Transport Prosecutor ordered the preventive measures in a form of detention with a view to extradition,” the message says.

For now, the Russian born in 1988 is in a prison. He is suspected of involvement in terrorist activity.

“Graz district attorney issued the arrest warrant in April 2016. On October 9, the Belarusian side informed their Austrian colleagues about detention through Interpol. The General Prosecutor Office has to receive the materials for extradition within 40 days since the day of detention,” the message says.
