Presence of a ship and a submarine of the Russian Navy reported in the economic zone of Latvia in the Baltic Sea, TV.net informs referring to the National Armed Forces of the country.

According to the report, in particular, the ship class BS Parchim and the submarine of Kilo class were noticed 15 nautical miles from the territorial waters of Latvia.

On the eve, according to the Internet portal, the Latvian military declared about presence of three ships of the Russian Navy in an economic zone of Latvia. Six kilometers from the sea border of Latvia, a training vessel of the Smolny class was identified, 13 kilometers from the border there was a builder of buoys, the Kirektor 1 of the Sura class, and at 18 miles there was a supply ship Irgiz of class Bira.

We recall, since October 16 in Latvia, two-week military exercise of NATO "Silver Arrow - 2017" with the participation of 11 countries are taking place. They will last until October 29.

According to Latvian defense ministry, the 3,500-strong contingent will consist of soldiers from Latvia, Albania, Estonia, Italy, Canada, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.
