Moscow district military court considered the case of Artem Khilko, the serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces. The private who served in Syria was charged with an unintended mishandling of military property, which led to losing this property. Kommersant reported that with a reference to a source in court.
‘Artem Khilko and other servicemen of the 2nd Tamanskaya Guard Motorized Rifle Division participated in military action in Syria; they took in some cargo at the Navy base in Tartus, Syria, and then convoyed the cargo to its final destination. As he finished loading the truck, Pvt. Khilko forgot to recollect his weapon that he left hanging on the truck’s board. Apparently, the weapon was lost in the move,’ the court said.
The soldier pleaded guilty and was fined for 50,000 Russian rubles. However, the court decided to lift the fine due to Khilko’s positive performance report.
