Tatyana Moskalkova, the Russian ombudswoman, has signed the petition to U.S. President Donald Trump, asking to pardon the Russian Air Force pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko.

The Russian official mentioned that there is no ombudsman in the U.S who would be authorized to solve such issues.

In May 2010, Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko was arrested in Liberia, charged with preparing shipments of large drug supplies. He was transferred to the U.S., where the court sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment in September 2011.
