Ships of Russia's Black Sea fleet entered the open waters to hold the missile and artillery exercises. Press office of Russian Defense Ministry reported that on September 20.
"Approximately 20 surface vessels and support ships of the Black Sea Fleet entered the open waters, departing from their bases in Sevastopol and Novorossiysk", reads the message.
The authority added that the drills involve missile boats, anti-submarine vessels, submarines, mine sweepers, support vessels, planes and helicopters of naval aviation and anti-aircraft defense units of the Black Sea fleet.
The execrises will include missile and artillery drills conducted by tactical groups of various composition. The crews will also practice in searching and destroying mines, naval battle, search and destruction of a hostile submarine, as well as detection and destruction of a hostile command center located on the shore.
