MiG-31 interceptor jet crashed in Buryatia republic in Siberian Federal District of Russian Federation during the training flight near Telemba testing ground, both crew members ejected themselves. This was reported by the press service of Russian Defense Ministry, according to TASS.
"A MiG-31 interceptor jet of the Eastern Military District crashed during a training flight near the Telemba proving ground, the Republic of Buryatia, at 12:05 Moscow time. Both crew members reportedly ejected themselves. A search and rescue service helicopter was dispatched to the site of the incident," the message reads.
Defense Ministry specified that both pilots of crashed MiG-31 were evacuated from the scene, they are safe now.
"The plane crashed at a proving ground in an unpopulated area. Both pilots ejected themselves. They were promptly evacuated. Their life is not in danger," the Defense Ministry said, as the agency informs.
