Around 35 Russian diplomats who worked at the Russian Consulate in San-Francisco are to be moved to the embassy in Washington, as Interfax reported, linking to their source.

The diplomats can use their accommodation until October 1, but their immunity is to be lifted.

“There were around 35 diplomats in Russian Consulate in San-Francisco. The Russian side, almost right after the announcement of it being shut down, addressed with a plea to consider them the employees of the embassy in Washington,” the source says.

As it was reported earlier, on September 2, based on the decision of the US government, the Russian Consulate in  San-Francisco was shut down.
