Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) intends to return to work during voting for the candidate on the post of Council of Europe Secretary-General, as Interfax reported.
The Head of Russia’s delegation to PACE Petr Tolstoy stated that Russian members will come to the session hall of the Assembly on June 26 to the voting for Secretary-General of the Council of Europe only after the credentials of the delegation are confirmed.
According to him, the Russian delegation will not come in PACE in the morning, as its credentials will be confirmed at the beginning of the second part of the plenary session.
The elections of the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe will be held by secret ballot.
As it was reported, PACE adopted a resolution which changes sanctions mechanism and allows Russia to return to the work in the organization without limitations to the right to vote.
