“At the downstream of Kerch-Yenikale canal, to the north of Borzovka cape, the barge with grain (3,300 tons) has sunk at the depth of 10 meters. The incident took place in 600 meters from the coast. The home port is Rostov-on-Don. The owner of the cargo and the reason for the incident are under establishment, the traffic and navigation are not complicated, the spill of fuel did not take place,” the so-called “Emergency Service of Crimea” reported.
According to it, any member of the crew suffered, the detachments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were not attracted to the rescue works. The cargo ship remains to stay at the sinking zone.
In its turn, the shipping company “Araks”, which owns the barge and tugboat, claimed that it does not plan to bring the barge up as “this operation is extremely costly”.
“Barge is hardly to be brought up as the operation is extremely costly. It does not possess the fuel tanks and will not cause the pollution of the environment,” the message said.
The sum of the loss from the sunken vessel aimed under the Russian flag to “Caucasus” port is not established yet.
Crimea was annexed by Russia by way of the illegal referendum, held at the peninsula in March 2014. Earlier the Russian militaries that stayed there without any marking conquered all strategic military objects and building of the force and state bodies. The results of the referendum were not recognized by Ukraine and the world society. The number of the European and world countries, including Ukraine imposed the economic sanctions against Russia.
