The Saint Petersburg Court sentenced Anatoly Pleshanov, the citizen of Russia for his post on the support of refugees from Ukraine by Russian authorities for one year of the imprisonment as The Moscow Times reported.

Anatoly Pleshanov published a post about the aid provided by the Russian government to the refugees from Ukraine in the Russian social media VK in 2016. He expressed the disagreement with the way the government uses his taxes and that the citizens of Russia do not receive so much support. However, the message of Pleshanov was not made public.

According to the sources, Russia spent 84 million dollars for the support of the citizens of Ukraine who arrived in Russia after the beginning of the Donbas Conflict and overthrow of the power of Viktor Yanukovych, the former pro-Russian president of Ukraine.
