Russian billionaire Ziyavudin Magomedov and his brother Magomed were detained by police. They faced suspicions of embezzlement in a particularly large amount. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, informs Interfax.
As reported, along with the Magomedov brothers, was detained Arthur Maksidov, the head of one of the companies of the Suma group, which was co-owned by Ziyavudin Magomedov.
Irina Volka, the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, said that cases against detainees have been filed under articles on fraud and organization of a criminal community in which, according to the investigation, they stole 2.5 billion rubles from the budget for the construction of various infrastructure and energy supplies. In particular, according to the newspaper Kommersant, it is about 750 million rubles allocated for the construction of the stadium "Arena Baltic" in Kaliningrad. In addition, several episodes are associated with the Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port.
At the moment, the investigators conducted searches in 25 subjects of the federation. In addition to both Magomedov and Maxidov, there are six more suspects in the case.
Now the court selects preventive measures for detainees, the pre-trial investigation lasts.
