Russia’s Armed Forces took another casualty in the ongoing military campaign in Syria.
Captain Yevgeniy Konstantinov perished on May 3, while rescuing his wounded comrade; the officer got six gunshot wounds, which proved fatal. He was buried in Novosibirsk, Russia, where his parents reside.
Konstantinov was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.
It is noteworthy that the Russian Defense Ministry has not yet officially confirmed the officer’s death; by far, Russia has officially lost 32 men in Syria.
