Russian aircraft gets lost in attacks at Syria

It got lost while returning to the base in Humaimam over the Mediterranean Sea 35 km away from the coast

Several airstrikes were launched at Syrian port Lattakia, as SANA reports.

“Lattakia, SANA-A military source announced on Monday that air defense system intercepted hostile missiles coming from the sea into Lattakia city and confronted a number of them before reaching their targets,” the message says.

Later, Russian Defence Ministry informed that IL-20 with 14 military servicemen got lost, as Interfax reported. It supposed to have been back at the Russian base Humaimam, Syria.

“The spot IL-20 disappeared on the radars during the attack of four Israeli F-16 aircrafts at the Syrian objects in Lattakia province,” the statement says.

Earlier, as a result of Russia’s airstrikes at Syrian province Idlib 13 people died. Later, Russia claimed to be continuing bombardments in Idlib, “if necessary”.
