Russian Security Service (FSB) appealed to court with a non-procedural request to carry out a session in Lefortovo court on the extension of sentence term for the Ukrainian POWs in camera, as the lawyer of one of the arrested sailors Sergiy Badamshyn said, TSS reported.

Besides, FSB asks not to reveal the results of the hearing without the investigator’s consent.

“FSB appealed to the court asking to conduct a session on the extension of sentence term in camera referring to confidentiality of the preliminary investigation. They also ask not to make the results public without the investigator’s consent. We regard this a serious violation of the transparency of the justice system,” the lawyer said.

Layer Mykola Polozov has written on Facebook that the defense’s position includes open and transparent court session which comply with the transparency principle of the jurisdiction, which implies the presence of media, representatives of the embassies of foreign states, Ukraine’s Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova and relatives of the detained sailors.
