The Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev claimed that the US announced to Moscow the total trade war by the passage of a new sanctions draft law and there can be no more hopes for improvement of the relations between the countries. He reported this at Facebook.

‘The signing of the new sanctions draft law against Russia by the US President creates a few consequences. Firstly, there can be no more hopes for improvement of the relations between the countries. Secondly, the total trade war is announced to Russia. And thirdly, the administration of Trump showed the complete powerlessness passing the authority to Congress. It changes the power balance in US political quarters’, he noted.

Also, Medvedev noted that this situation is more dangerous for Trump than for Russia.

‘The American establishment outwitted Trump. The president is not glad of the new sanctions but he was not able not to sign the draft law. The new sanctions system appeared to cut Trump down to size. The further actions will aim for his removal from power. We will calmly continue the work on the economy and social sphere development; we will work on import substitution and decide the most important state issues reckoning on our own powers. We learned to do these in last years. Probably, it even redounded to advantage but generally, the sanctions are meaningless. We will cope with it’, he said.

At the same time, Russia does not intend to respond to the imposing of the new sanctions by the US as TASS reported citing the speaker of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov. The confirmation of the draft law by Trump is not a big new, according to him.

The President of the US Donald Trump signed the law on the extension of the restrictions against Russia, Iran and North Korea on August 2.

The sanctions ban the investments in the sum of more than ten million of dollars in the Russian privatization dealings and restrict the investments in the export of petrol- and gas pipe line to five million of dollars. These restrictions will hurt the investors of the gas pipe line North Stream-2. Moreover, Trump cannot abolish the sanctions or pull out the certain people by the own decree. Such decision can be made only after the agreement with the Congress.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hailed the imposing of the new sanctions against Russia by the US and he claimed that they will act until the complete clearance of the Ukrainian territory.
