Russian gas supplies to Turkey will start by late 2019. Russian leader Vladimir Putin said this at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Recep Erdogan.
"We assume that by the end of the year, Russian gas will be supplied to Turkish consumers", he said.
According to Putin, when the second line of the Turkish Stream pipeline is built, the Russian fuel will go to Europe across the Turkish territory.
The Russian part of the Turkish Stream pipeline is now ready by 99 percent.
Previously, Oleg Aksyutin, the Deputy Head of Gazprom company's executive board said that the gas supplies across Turkish Stream would begin by December 21.
