Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova to begin large-scale vaccination against coronavirus next week, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the head of state, he has already discussed the pace of production of drugs from Covid-19 with Golikova and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
"I know that we have already produced more than two million doses of the world's first registered coronavirus vaccine, Sputnik V, or its production will reach this level in the next few days. This gives us the opportunity to start if not mass, then large-scale vaccination and, of course, as agreed, two risk groups will be vaccinated first - doctors and teachers," Putin said.
As we reported earlier, the United Kingdom has approved the use of the Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus.
“The government has adopted the recommendations of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to approve for use the vaccine against coronavirus developed by Pfizer and BioNTech,” reads the message.
