Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Moscow has already initiated the supply of s-300 missile systems to Syria. Lavrov claimed this during the press conference in New York, RBK reports. 

‘S-300 yet started arriving in Syria,’ the Head of Russian MFA claimed.

Lavrov claimed that the supply of the systems to Damascus started in accordance with the commission of Putin, right after the incident with the Ilyushin Il-20 surveillance aircraft over the Mediterranean Sea.  

According to Lavrov, Moscow will equip the command posts of the Syrian air defense with automated control systems available only in the Russian Armed Forces.

‘In addition, Russian militaries will implement the jamming of satellite navigation, airborne radar, and combat aviation communication systems, attacking objects on Syrian territory.’ Russian Foreign Ministry claimed. 

A couple of days ago it became known that Russia was intended to convey S-300 missile systems to Syria within two weeks.
