Deputy Head of the Administration of the Russian President, Russia’s Representative in Normandy Format talks at the level of the political advisers Dmitriy Kozak stated that the new peace plan on Donbas Conflict settlement announced by Ukraine does not exist as Interfax reported.
“Concerning the ‘new peace plan’. It is not on the meeting table. It is another myth. In any case, members of Minsk and Normandy Formats do not know about the issue,” Kozak said.
He added that on February 8, “the representatives of Germany and France made another attempt to agree on ‘the compromise project’ of the recommendations of Normandy Format for Contact Group to prepare ‘road map’ on a comprehensive political settlement of the conflict in correspondence with Minsk Agreements’. On February 16, Russia sent all partakers of the talks improvers and offered Kyiv to provide its offers to the French-German project and provide a position toward Russian improvers.
“Since that time, Ukrainian colleagues keep significant silence…”, Kozak said.
Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office Andriy Yermak stated that the plan of peaceful settlement of Donbas Conflict prepared by Ukraine and western partners is ready but it should be approved by Russia.
However, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrey Rudenko stated that Russia knows nothing about the plan.
Besides, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the preparation of the Normandy Format meeting. However, in case it does not take place, the leader of the state will find another format of the talks with each side.
Adviser on Information Policy of the Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group Oleksiy Arestovych stated that a new peace plan on Donbas offered by Germany and France will be presented until the end of March. As of today, the details of this initiative are not disclosed.
