Frants Klintsevich, First Deputy Head of Russia’s Federation Council committee on defence and security, commented on the statement made by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov, who said that Russia is amassing military equipment at Ukrainian border under the guise of peacekeeping. The Russian official told this to Russian media RIA Novosti

“It’s made up. And that would be fine if such nonsense was said by some Rada MP, but the Secretary of Security and Defense Council – it doesn’t go well with such a serious post,” he said.

Klintsevitch added that he believes Ukraine has a lot of problems in the sphere of national security, and it’s worth handling those instead of accusing Russia. However, he didn’t specify what the problems Ukraine needs to tackle are.
