On June 19, the State Duma Council confirmed the composition of the majority of delegation for possible participation in the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, as the member of State Duma Leonid Slutsky said, TASS reported.
22 people joined the delegation: 14 members of the Parliament from United Russia, three from Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and three from Russian Communist Party, two from A Just Russia.
According to Slutsky, who is a member of the delegation, the application for confirmation of the mandate of the delegation will be submitted considering the results of the voting on the resolution with amendments on the restriction of PACE sanctions scheme.
The MP stated that if PACE votes for the imposition of the ban on the restriction of the right to freedom of expression, right to vote and representation of national delegations in the Assembly, Russia MPs will “enter the conference room of Council of Europe”.
The application to confirm the mandate of the Russian delegation for participation in PACE summer session will be presented after the amendments to the regulations.
