The railway bypassing Ukraine started its work in Russia. It is built on the territory of Rostov and Voronezh regions. Interfax-AVN reported this citing the sources.

'The working motion at the Zhuravka-Millerovo part is opened. It is possible to say that the exploitation of the double-track electrified railroad began', the source of the agency said.

It was announced about the plans to build the railroad to South of Russia that will not cross the border with Ukraine in March 2014. The cost of the building was esteemed in 750-999 million of dollars.

The Deputy of the Russian Minister of Defense Dmitry Bulgakov claimed in November 2016 that the building of the railway bypassing Ukraine is held ahead of schedule and it is planned to open it in the middle of August 2017.

The planned route on a map would have been rather informative. Some comments regarding the size of Russian railway tracks as compared to European would have in appropriate.
