Russia intends to conduct census in occupied Crimea, Ukraine protests

The Russian Federation has intentions to perform a population census in the occupied Crimea. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry condemned this decision and claimed that Kyiv has the right to retaliate. 

"Ukraine condemns the all-Russia census that is to be hosted by the Russian Federation on the premises of the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city. Holding a censes on the temporarily occupied territory is a hostile act against our state, and we reserve the right to retaliate", reads the message.

The Ukrainian authority added that such actions of the Russian Federation are aimed at Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity; they are another step to legitimization of the attempt of annexation of the occupied Crimea and the spread of the Russian law on its territory.
