The Russian Federation is fully prepared for potential disconnection from the global Internet. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, TASS reports.
Medvedev assured that Russia had the technology to ensure the autonomous operation of the country’s Internet.
"Technologically, everything is ready for this to happen. All relevant decisions have been made at the legislative level. I am going to emphasize once again: this is not easy, and I would not like that to happen," Medvedev said.
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation also noted that such a decision was a contingency plan in case Russia was disconnected from the worldwide network.
As we reported earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the introduction of sanctions increased the risks of unilateral use of military force.
"Such games with no rules critically increase the risks of unilateral use of military force. That is the danger," said the president.
